Urgent: Oil prices surge on dipping U.S. output

Crude prices jumped Wednesday as a government report showed that U.S. crude output dropped last week.

Light, sweet crude for May delivery gained 3.1 U.S. dollars to settle at 56.39 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Endite
