Mozambique Football Federation to complain to CAF against referee team

Xinhua, April 16, 2015 Adjust font size:

The chairman of the Mozambique's Football Federation, Faizal Sidat said that he is going to complain to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) of the referee performance, local newspaper reported on Wednesday.

Sidat said he would get video footage from the Mozambique's State Television TVM, which also covered the decisive match between the U23 national squad against Ghana in Tamale last Sunday.

"There were so many mistakes that determined the final result. We want CAF to penalize the referee team for their bad performance, " said Sidat.

Mozambique lost in Tamale to the Black Stars 2-0 and 2-1 on aggregate, which costs their chance to qualify for the All Africa Games to be held in Brazzaville, the Republic of Congo.

Sidat said the referees failed to award three penalties in favor of Mozambique.

"I will also file my complain to CAF when we go for the meetings. We were better than Ghana and we deserved to qualify," said Sidat. Endite
