Monchengladbach's Patrick Herrmann signs contract extension

Borussia Monchengladbach and Patrick Herrmann agreed on a contract extension until June 2019, both sides announced on Wednesday.

The offensive top performer and homegrown talent inked a new contact, which keeps him another four seasons with the "Foals".

"We are pleased that we were able to extend with Patrick, who wants to continue the successful path we have taken together. Patrick evolved under us from a youngster to a Bundesliga player. We are happy that he wants to take the next step in his career with us," Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl said.

The 24-year-old midfielder turned professional in January 2010 to score 35 goals in 185 appearances.

"I have a lot of fun to play for Monchengladbach. I feel the confidence of the club and those responsible. We have great supporters and a unique stadium. I feel at home here. I want to be successful on the national and international level with the club," Herrmann said.

Third placed Monchengladbach clash seventh placed Hoffenheim at the 27th round of Bundesliga on Saturday. The "Foals" sit just seven points behind second placed Wolfsburg meanwhile fourth placed Leverkusen is on Monchengladbach's tail. Endite
