Jordan and Italy on Wednesday called for more intensified efforts at all fronts to combat terrorism and extremism.
At a meeting in Amman, Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Judeh and his Italian counterpart Paolo Gentiloni discussed regional developments and means to combat terrorism and extremist groups in the region.
The Jordanian minister stressed the need for re-launching Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, saying that the Palestinian issue is the core of conflicts in the Middle East.
Judeh said such talks need to lead to the creation of an independent Palestinian state at the borders of 1967 with east Jerusalem as its capital.
The two ministers also reviewed the ongoing crisis in Syria and Libya, as well as the latest events and developments in Yemen. Endit
