China, South Korea and Japan on Wednesday held the 10th trilateral senior foreign affairs officials' consultation in Seoul, preparing for restoring the upcoming trilateral meeting among foreign ministers of the three countries in late March.

JAKARTA -- Australia's most senior Muslim Cleric, the Grand Mufti, flown to Jakarta to plead for the lives of two Australian convicts on Wednesday, asking the Indonesian government to deeply consider their apology.

NEW DELHI -- Three persons were killed and 23 others were injured in a bomb blast on Wednesday evening at a major market in Imphal, state capital of the northeast Indian state of Manipur, local media reported.
Some of the injured were in serious conditions as the bomb blast was very powerful, said Press Trust of India. (India-Bomb Blast)

COLOMBO -- Lawyers of former Maldives president Mohammad Nasheed said on Wednesday they will continue to work towards ensuring that Nasheed's rights are not violated and that he is protected from any ill-treatment or torture even though they have recused themselves from the Criminal Court trial of the case.
The attorneys representing former president Mohamed Nasheed has on Monday informed the Criminal Court that they have recused themselves from representing the president stating that it was impossible for them to provide their client with the best legal consul due to the hastened trail process.
