13 teams to join int'l women's cycling tournament in Vietnam

A total of 13 teams will take part in the International Women's Cycling Tournament (Biwase Cup 2015) which is about to kick off on Saturday, said Vietnam Cycling Federation (VCF) on Thursday.

Among teams participating in the league which is expected to open in southern Binh Duong province, some 1,120 km south of Vietnam's capital Hanoi, 10 are local ones while the rest three are from Thailand, Malaysia and Kazakhstan.

Doan Kim Phach, VCF vice chairman, said on state-run news agency VNA on Thursday that in Biwase Cup 2015 cyclists will compete in nine different races with a total length of over 700 km.

Together with other contests, the tournament is expected to help Vietnamese cyclists have chance to challenge themselves with regional big rivals, thus increasing their levels of expertise and experience, reported VNA.

The event is scheduled to last till March 8. Endi
