Rockets roll past Clippers

Xinhua, February 26, 2015 Adjust font size:

The Houston Rockets used a big fourth quarter to outlast the Los Angeles Clippers 110-105 Wednesday night at Toyota Center, ending a six-game skid to the latter.

The Rockets have not won a single game against the Clippers since March 30, 2013. The chances of reversing that situation seemed slim Wednesday when the two struggled for another tight match.

Neither was able to establish a sizeable lead in the first three quarters. Houston was trailing by one point entering the final period. That's when their players off the bench shined and saved the team from another loss.

Led by Corey Brewer, the Rockets had a late spurt of 15-1 to gain an edge that the Clippers failed to cut. Hard they tried, Los Angeles finally fell to Houston.

Brewer scored 13 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter and James Harden had 21 points and 10 assists for the Rockets. Jamal Crawford led the Clippers with 24 points and Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan had 22 apiece. Endi
