Bulgaria aims to improve business climate, promote exports: minister

Xinhua, February 2, 2015 Adjust font size:

Bulgaria aimed to improve business climate, reduce administrative burden, promote exports and stimulate inward investment, the country's new Minister of Economy Bojidar Loukarsky said here on Monday.

"Our main priority is to improve the business environment and reduce the administrative burden," Loukarsky said at a press conference.

Loukarsky, who took office last November, said the efforts of his ministry would be directed to electronic conduction of public procurement procedures to ensure greater transparency.

Furthermore, the ministry would facilitate the procedures for starting and developing business, and provide a "second chance" for entrepreneurs who have gone bankrupt due to circumstances beyond their control, he said.

"We will also encourage exports by improving the access of small and medium enterprises to third country markets, and optimize and strengthen work of our commercial offices chiefly in Asia, the Middle and Far East, and North America," Loukarsky said.

Meanwhile, the country would encourage inward investment in sectors with high added value, he said.

Full and transparent absorption of EU funds, and improving the link between education, the labor market and business, were the other two priorities of his ministry, he said. Endit
