LME base metals rise mostly on Friday

The base metal prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) closed higher mostly on Friday.

Copper price rose as China's top electricity company State Grid announced a record investment plan for 2015 on Friday.

State Grid plans to boost investment by 24 percent this year to 420.2 billion yuan (67.73 billion U.S. dollars). The move eases concerns about demand.

Copper price increased too after the Bank of China decided to increase its relending quota by 50 billion yuan this year.

The three-month unofficial copper price increased 16.5 U.S. dollars, or 0.29 percent, to 5,684 dollars per tonne.

The three-month unofficial aluminium price increased 50 dollars, or 2.80 percent, to 1,835 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial lead price increased 52 dollars, or 2.90 percent, to 1,845 dollars a tonne.

Besides, the three-month unofficial zinc price increased 36 dollars, or 1.76 percent, to 2,086 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial nickel price increased 237.5 dollars, or 1.64 percent, to 14,687.5 dollars a tonne.

The three-month unofficial tin price lost 212.5 dollars, or 1.08 percent, to 19,412.5 dollars a tonne. ((1 dollar = 6.2 yuan) Endit
