Saudi Arabia executes 10 individuals in 2 weeks

Saudi Arabia executed a Saudi man on Friday for shooting dead another man, which brings the number of death penalty cases to 10 in two weeks, Elaph e-newspaper reported.

Murtadha Al Shukra was executed on Friday in Riyadh for killing a man by machine gun. Aother woman was executed on Monday in Makkah after she was found guilty of torturing her seven-year-old stepdaughter to death.

According to the newspaper, 87 individuals from different nationalities were executed in Saudi Arabia last year, compared with 78 cases in 2013.

Saudi Arabia sentenced death penalty for rape, converting from Islam to another religion, armed robbery, drug dealing and sorcery. The execution is usually carried out in public places. Endit
