Urgent: Oil prices rebound after sharp decline

Oil prices rebounded strongly Friday as the International Energy Agency expected that oil producers would boost output at a slower rate this year.

Light, sweet crude for February delivery gained 2.44 U.S. dollars to settle at 48.69 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Endite
