Singapore Confirms More Cases of Influenza A/H1N1

Singapore on Thursday confirmed 95 new cases of Influenza A/H1N1, bringing the total number of such cases to 878 in the city state.

According to a statement issued by Singapore's Ministry of Health on Thursday night, the majority of the A/H1N1 cases in the country have so far been mild. 329 patients have been discharged from hospitals and the rest are recuperating.

With the increase of local cases, Singapore is taking a more targeted and risk-stratified approach in its management of the disease so that hospitals can focus on care for those who are more ill.

Singapore reported its first confirmed case of Influenza A/H1N1on May 27.
