Singapore reported its first confirmed case of Influenza A/H1N1on May 27. In the initial period of the influenza's outbreak, most of cases are imported ones with travel history from affected countries such the United States and Australia. But the outbreak has since progressed from merely imported cases to local community transmission as of June 26, this year.

With more local transmission cases, Singapore is in the process of moving from containment to mitigation, the ministry said, adding that the country is still trying to slow down the community spread but has concurrently started preparing to manage the disease in a more targeted and risk-stratified manner.
