Israel Finds 23 More A/H1N1 Flu Cases

23 additional A/H1N1 flu cases were diagnosed on Sunday in Israel, the country's Health Ministry said.

All of the patients, who were quarantined in their homes, are now in good condition, said the ministry.

The latest cases have brought to 117 the total number of confirmed cases of the globally spreading disease in the Jewish state.

Over the weekend, 17 additional A/H1N1 flu cases have been diagnosed in Israel, bringing to 94 the total number of confirmed cases in the country.

On Thursday, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised the A/H1N1 alert to phase six, its highest level, formally declaring that it had developed into a global pandemic.

The latest WHO figures on Saturday showed 74 countries and regions had officially reported 29,669 cases of A/H1N1 flu, including 145 deaths.
