Report: 26th Case of A/H1N1 Flu Diagnosed in Israel

Another A/H1N1 flu case was diagnosed on Monday in Israel, bringing the total number in the Jewish state to 26, local news service Ynet reported.

The patient, a 19-year-old youth, was hospitalized at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer after being diagnosed with the virus, said the report, adding that doctors said the youth is in good condition.

The youth contracted the virus in Israel from a friend who returned from the United States, added the report.

Over the past few days, Israeli health authority diagnosed several influenza A/H1N1 cases since the outbreak of the influenza.

According to the World Health Organization, 53 countries had officially reported 15,510 cases of A/H1N1 infection, including 99 deaths, as of Friday.
