Thailand Free from Influenza A/H1N1

Since April 28 to May 3, Thailand totally has had 15 suspected patients of influenza A/H1N1, Doctor Paichit Warachit, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Thailand's Ministry of Public Health said on Monday.
Of these 15 suspected patients, ten are free from the deadly influenza A/H1N1 as they had normal human flu, based on laboratory tests, said Doctor Paichit.
The Ministry was currently waiting for laboratory tests of the five remainder suspected patients, who have been quarantined at Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute located at Nonthaburi province next to capital Bangkok, said Doctor Paichit.
Among the five remainder suspected, one was a 40-year-old woman, who worked at the disease control department at Suvarnabhumi Airport and a 47-year-old man from a central province of Samutprakarn, who returned from France on April 24.
The three others were students, who returned from Mexico on Sunday night, said Doctor Paichit.
Doctor Preecha Tantanakit, director of Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute said that Bamrasnaradura is ready to handle with the suspected patients.
Currently, Bamrasnaradura Infectious Diseases Institute has had57 beds in five sterile rooms, with international standard for suspected influenza A/H1N1 patients, said the director.
