There will be no shortage of antiviral Oseltamivir against the deadly swine flu in Thailand, Witthaya Kaewparadai, Thai Minister of Public Health Witthaya Kaewparadai reiterated on Thursday.

Speaking after inspecting the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO) on Thursday afternoon, Witthaya said the Public Health Ministry has ordered the GPO to produce one more million pills of the antiviral Oseltamivir quickly, according to a statement released by the Ministry.

The one more million pills of the antiviral Oseltamivir will be enough for potential 100,000 patients across the country, Witthaya said in the statement.

The GPD said that its delivery of the antiviral Oseltamivir will be quick as it will take only 12 hours to distribute the antiviral Oseltamivir to hospitals in Bangkok and nearby provinces, the statement quoted Witthaya as saying.

Also, it will take only 24 hours to distribute the antiviral Oseltamivir to provincial hospitals across Thailand, the Thai Public Health Minister said in the statement.

Currently, Thailand has stockpiled the antiviral Oseltamivir, which will be enough for possible 320,000 patients across the country, said the Public Health Minister earlier.
