The Thai Health Ministry will propose a plan to produce additional 2 million pills of the antiviral Oseltamivir, amid the rising A/H1N1 flu outbreak outside the country, a senior health official said on Monday.

The Ministry will propose to the weekly cabinet on Tuesday to provide 80 million baht (US$2.29 million) worth of fund for the purchase of the materials to produce the 2 million pills of Oseltamivir, said Deputy Public Health Minister Manit Nopamornbodi, according to the Thai language news agency INN.

The additional stockpile of the antiviral Oseltamivir will make the country ready to fight the probable A/H1N1 flu outbreak.
