A suspect case of Influenza A/H1N1 has been detected in Thailand, Public Health permanent secretary Prat Boonyawongwiroj confirmed on Saturday.

He said the person has been healed from the illness and under quarantine for seven days, the TPBS reported.

The Public Health Ministry has requested a test by a U.S. lab to confirm the finding, Prat said, without identifying the patient. He did not reveal how the patient arrived at Thailand, either.

A two-day ASEAN Plus Three Health Ministers Special Meeting on Influenza A/H1N1 concluded on Friday in Bangkok after the countries involved agreed to establish a system for sharing of essential supplies among national stockpiles "in case of emergency needs" and to ensure prompt sharing of information by setting up hotlines among national health authorities.

Clusters of A/H1N1 flu outbreaks have appeared in multiple locations in Mexico, the United States and then across the world, taking the death toll of 46 since the first infection case was reported on 17 March.

According to the update from WHO, at least 2,500 confirmed cases have been found in 25 countries and areas globally.
