Zhan Siyuan and Wu Yuqi are known as “night watchers.” They have worked the night shift since they went to Hubei.

The nocturnal nurses mentioned: “We are strong and energetic. It is not hard for us to stay up late. We can help the female nurses that we work with get some rest.”

A 70-year-old woman who goes by Grandma Wang and has problems with mobility is currently a patient at the hospital that the male nurses are working at. She felt touched when she saw Zhan quietly take her bedpan to the bathroom and clean it during his nightly rounds.

Wu always makes sure to gently put quilts and blankets on his patients at night and close the curtains in their rooms.
