Ukraine to sell up to 2 bln USD Eurobonds in 2018

Xinhua,December 20, 2017 Adjust font size:

KIEV, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian government plans to sell up to 2 billion U.S. dollars worth of Eurobonds in 2018, the country's Deputy Finance Minister said here on Tuesday.

Speaking during an annual finance ministry's press conference, Yuriy Butsa said that the exact amount of the Eurobond placement will depend on the market situation and on the aid attracted by Ukraine from international lenders.

This year, Ukraine raised 3 billion dollars by issuing 15-year Eurobonds with a yield rate of 7.375 percent. It was the country's first borrowing on international capital markets since 2013.

The Eurobond placement is helping Ukraine to serve its state debt. In 2018, the East European country has to repay about 4 billion dollars of sovereign and state-guaranteed debt. Enditem
