German shares lose 0.72 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 19 (Xinhua) -- German shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 96.51 points, or 0.72 percent, to close at 13,215.79 points.

German energy group RWE lost the most among the blue chips, down by 1.88 percent, followed by European mass media company ProSiebenSat.1 and German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom, which lost 1.62 percent and 1.40 percent respectively.

German airlines Lufthansa, industrial giant Thyssenkrupp and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement were the top three winners, rising 1.16 percent, 0.79 percent and 0.63 percent respectively.

Manufacturing and electronics company Siemens was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 244.92 million euros (289.56 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
