German shares close flat Tuesday

German stocks closed flat on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 2.51 points, or 0.02 percent, to close at 12,804.53 points.

Industrial giant Thyssenkrupp gained 3.78 percent, becoming the top gainer. Multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer advanced 1.12 percent. and Energy group RWE went up by 0.93 percent.

German multinational chemical firm Linde lost 1.35 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by Chemical group BASF and Tire specialist Continental, which lost 1.27 and 1.07 percent respectively.

Bayer was the most traded share with a turnover of 216.41 million euros (239.32 million U.S. dollars). Endit
