Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 caught fire on Tuesday evening and resulted in significant flight delays.

Stranded passengers were evacuated to Terminal 3 after the incident. Three people were sent to hospital for smoke inhalation. (Singapore-Airport-Fire)

NEW DELHI -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held talks here on Tuesday, officials said.

TOKYO -- Japan's electronic giant Panasonic Corp. announced on Tuesday that it will recall some 279,000 battery packs used in some of its tablet PC models following reports of multiple combustion cases.

The company said it had received 16 reports about the battery packs used in the Toughpad FZ-G1 tablets bursting into flames between March 2015 and April 2017, though no injury had been reported. (Japan-Panasonic-Recall)

PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan -- Up to 32 armed insurgents have been killed as government forces launched counter-offensive to foil Taliban attacks in Burka district of northern Afghanistan's Baghlan province, provincial police chief Ekramudin Sarih said Tuesday.

"Taliban rebels launched multi-pronged attacks early Tuesday to overrun Burk district but their attempts have been foiled following counter-offensive and the militants, after leaving 32 bodies, fled away," Sarih told reporters at a press conference here. (Afghanistan-Insurgents) Endit
