5.5-magnitude earthquake jolts Kyrgyzstan

A 5.5-magnitude earthquake has occurred in Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies reported Tuesday.

The seismic station of the Institute of Seismology of Kyrgyzstan registered the earthquake in a mountain ridge in the southwest area of the country.

There are so far no victims or damages, the report said.

In early May, a quake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale occurred in the south of Kyrgyzstan, damaging more than 900 houses. More than 3,000 people were relocated.

According to data of the Ministry of Emergencies, 16 quakes have been registered so far this month in Kyrgyzstan. Endi
