UAE reopens consular service center in Beirut

Xinhua, May 9, 2017 Adjust font size:

Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri inaugurated Tuesday the Consular Services Center of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Embassy in Beirut, with the participation of UAE ambassador to Lebanon Hamad Saeed Al-Shamsi.

According to a statement by the PM media office, Hariri said on the occasion "UAE has always been generous with Lebanon, and believed in its unity and stood by its side in all crises.

"UAE has not failed at any stage even when wars were launched against Lebanon. And when the Lebanese disagreed with each other, we are always with the Lebanese people," the PM stressed. "These UAE consular facilities serve the Lebanese as well as UAE nationals and we thank them for what they are doing."

For his part, Al-Shamsi thanked Hariri for launching the consular center "which will provide the best consular services to the client."

He added that the bilateral relations between Lebanon and UAE in particular, the Gulf states in general, are at the best situation because "there is a plan and hard work by PM Hariri to return Lebanon to its Arab environment." Endit
