U.S. looks forward to working with new South Korean president: White House

The White House said Tuesday the U.S. looks forward to working with South Korean President-elect Moon Jae-in to strengthen the alliance between the two countries.

"We congratulate President-elect Moon Jae-in and join the people of South Korea in celebrating their peaceful, democratic transition of power," White House spokesman Sean Spicer said in a statement.

Moon won the South Korean presidential by-election as he gained votes enough to confirm victory, vote count results showed. Endit
