Xinhua, May 4, 2017 Adjust font size:

Several children were injured on Thursday when a heavy traffic accident took place on a major motorway near Munich of Germany, Focus Online said.

A spokesman for local highway police confirmed that the incident occurred on the A8 motorway between the Hofoldinger Forst junction and the Munich-South junction in the direction of Munich, the capital of Bavaria State in southern Germany.

Four cars and two buses were involved in the accident and the two buses "interlocked," the spokesman said.

The highway was closed and rescue workers were on the site, the spokesman added.

Although the exact casualties remained unclear, several children who were sitting in the buses were reportedly injured. Endi
