Xinhua, April 25, 2017 Adjust font size:

The CodeBus' initiative across sub-Saharan Africa is in Namibia and will have five stops in Rundu, Windhoek, Mariental, Otjiwarango and Walvis Bay from April 25 to May 6.

The CodeBus Africa is a 100-day adventure into creative technology and youth empowerment and brings together African and Finnish innovators in technology and education to organize creative coding workshops for young people, especially girls to explore technology's possibilities for their future in 10 African countries.

The Finnish Ambassador to Namibia, Anne Saloranta on Tuesday said, during these visits, a total of four one-day programing workshops will be organized by Aalto University and the Embassy of Finland in partnership with Namibian University of Science and Technology and the National Youth Council.

According to Saloranta the initiative will boost cooperation between Finnish and Namibian innovators and the project aims at making Finland more known in Namibia, while facilitating a dialogue between Finnish and Namibian youth and young professionals.

To celebrate the CodeBus Africa initiative and Finland's 100th anniversary, the Embassy of Finland will host a reception at the Ambassador's residence in Windhoek on April 28.

The CodeBus Africa 100-day adventure started in February and will end in May. Endit
