Sudan accuses S. Sudan of continuing support for Sudanese armed groups

Sudanese Parliament on Tuesday accused South Sudan of continuing its support for the Sudanese armed groups, Sudanese Media Center (SMC) reported.

"South Sudan met support of the Sudanese government and people for its citizens with further coordination with the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)/northern sector to undermine the security and stability at South Kordofan and Blue Nile," the SMC quoted Gen. Ahmed Imam al-Tuhami, Head of the Security and Defence Committee at the Sudanese Parliament, as saying.

He described the recent meetings for South Sudan government with leaders of the SPLM/northern sector in Juba as "a flagrant intervention in Sudan's internal affairs."

He said that South Sudan should be dealt with similarly, reiterating that Sudan is considering the suffering of the South Sudanese citizens who are fleeing in thousands to Sudan because of the war and famine in their country.

On Monday, the Sudanese National Intelligence and Security Service declared that it monitored meetings for South Sudan President and his First Vice-President with leaders of the SPLM/northern sector during the past days to prolong the war in Sudan.

The Sudanese government has been fighting the rebels from SPLM/northern sector in South Kordofan and Blue Nile states since 2011, where over ten rounds of peace talks have failed to end the conflict and stop the war.

Khartoum repeatedly accuses Juba of supporting and sheltering the rebels of the SPLM/northern sector, while Juba refutes the accusation. Endit
