New air route links south China island to Myanmar

A new flight began Friday linking Haikou, capital of south China's island province Hainan, and Rangoon, Myanmar.

China Southern Airlines flight CZ8471 departs Haikou at 11:10 a.m. and after a stop at Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, it lands in Rangoon 4:40 p.m. local time.

The flight leaves Haikou on Monday and Friday, and returns the same day from Rangoon at 5:40 p.m. local time.

There are also plans for flights from Haikou Meilan International Airport to Jakarta, Indonesia; Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, Thailand; and Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia this year. Endi
