Xu Xianming appointed SPP deputy procurator general

Xu Xianming was appointed deputy procurator general of the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Friday, according to a decision by the top legislature.

Xu's request to resign as a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) was also approved at the closing meeting of a bimonthly session of the NPC Standing Committee, which opened Wednesday.

Chinese law bans members of the standing committees of people's congresses from working concurrently for the government, people's courts and people's procuratorates. Endi
