China leads figure skating short dance at Asiad

SAPPORO, Japan, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) - Chinese ice dance duo Wang Shiyue/Liu Xinyu led the short dance at the eighth Asian Winter Games here on Thursday.

The figure skating competition kicked off with ice dance. Chinese pair Wang/Liu, seventh in the Four Continents Championships in last week, scored 66.02 points to the lead, beating Japan's Kana Muramoto/Chris Reed to second place with 64.74 points.

Another Chinese pair Chen Hong/Zhao Yan ranked third with 59.02.

The free dance will be held on Friday. Endit
