Russian navy ship arrives in Pakistan for international exercises

Russian Navy's large anti-submarine ship Severmorsk has arrived in Pakistan for participation in the Aman 2017 international naval exercises, RIA Novosti reported Thursday.

The ship, set off from Oman's port of Salalah, will take part in the naval exercises scheduled on Friday in the waters of the Arabian Sea and at the Pakistan Navy base located at the Karachi port.

The exercises, to be participated by navy forces from eight countries, are aimed to enhance efforts on combating piracy and protecting the international trade routes.

During the exercises, the Severomosrk crew would interact with colleagues from Pakistan, China, the United States, Britain, Turkey and several other countries. Endi
