British shares drop on Monday

British shares lost on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 0.92 percent, or 66.01 points, to close at 7,118.48 points.

Shares of DCC Energy soared 4.12 percent, becoming the top gainer of the blue chips. ConvaTec Group gained 2.28 percent and Paddy Power Betfair rose 1.73 percent.

Retail company Tesco was the biggest loser among the blue-chips by losing 4.24 percent. Rolls-Royce Holdings shed 3.79 percent, and Barclays fell 3.12 percent. Endit
