Albanian justice minister dismissed

Xinhua, January 31, 2017 Adjust font size:

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama signed Monday the discharge of Ylli Manjani from the post of justice minister, the prime minister's press office announced.

Rama has appointed Petrit Vasili from the Socialist Movement of Integration (SMI) to replace Manjani, the same sources said.

The decision to dismiss Manjani came after several hours of talks at the office of Speaker of Parliament Ilir Meta, media here reported.

Manjani, coming from the SMI, was appointed as Albanian minister of justice in November 2015 following the resignation of Nasip Naco from this post.

Vasili's position of the chairman of SMI parliamentary group, will be taken by general secretary of the party Luan Rama, the SMI said in a press conference. Endit
