Red Star stun champions CSKA 78-67

Serbian champions Red Star upset defending champions Russian CSKA 78-67 in the Euroleague on Thursday.
Center Ognjen Kuzmic had double-double with 10 points and 8 rebounds, while veteran forward Marko Simonovic had 14 points, playmaker Charles Jenkins 11 points and 6 assists for Red Star, which shot 53.5 percent in the field.
Andrey Vorontsevich scored 21 points and Aaron Jackson added 10 points and 8 assists for the Russian star team.
The victory adds to a supprising streak of victories of Red Star over some of the biggest clubs competing in the Euroleague - Galatasaray, Barcelona, Bamberg, Armani, Maccabi, and most recently Real Madrid.
With a record of seven wins and eight losses, Red Star climb from 9th to 8th position.
For CSKA, this is only the third loss this season, and with 13 victories they stay securely on top of the rankings.
Coach of Red Star Dejan Radonjic said that his team played the best game of the whole season against the Russian team and achieved a historic victory.
"We played excellent for all 40 minutes and we believed in the result presents a huge surprise," Radonjic explained.
In Round 16 Red Star will try to continue the streak in Lithuania against Zalgiris Kaunas, while CSKA will play against Real Madrid in Moscow. Endit
