Albanian President Bujar Nishani decreed the 2017 state budget, thus enabling its enactment, the presidential office said Tuesday.
The 2017 budget envisages revenues at the level of 436 billion leks (3.38 billion U.S. dollars), whereas spending is projected at 467.2 billion leks.
According to the Albanian government, the 2017 budget will contribute to an economic growth of 3.8 percent.
Meanwhile, the government has projected a fiscal deficit equivalent to 2 percent of the gross domestic product in 2017, the lowest deficit rate in two decades.
The draft budget for 2017 was approved by the parliament earlier this month after a marathon plenary session.
The budget was adopted only by the votes of the majority lawmakers given that opposition members left the parliament's hall before the voting session. Endit
