Morocco said Monday that it strongly condemned a terrorist attack that targeted a police patrol in the Jordanian city of Karak on Sunday.

Morocco "strongly condemns this abject criminal act contrary to all moral and universal values, and reaffirms its continued solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to face the scourge of despicable terrorism," the Moroccan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

Morocco also expressed its condolences to the families of the victims, and reiterated "its constant support and total solidarity" with Jordan in combating terrorism.

Four unidentified gunmen launched a series of attacks in Jordan's southern city of Karak on Sunday night, killing 10 people, including a Canadian tourist. Endit
