Vietnam's agro-forestry-fishery exports are forecast to surpass 31 billion U.S. dollars for the first time in 2016, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) on Thursday.

Statistics by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development showed that in the first 11 months, Vietnam's farm produce exports raked in 29.1 billion U.S. dollars, up 5.9 percent year-on-year.

Under such growth, the country's export revenue of agro-forestry-fishery products is likely to surpass 31 billion U.S. dollars this year, said local Bao Cong Thuong (Industry and Trade News) online newspaper on Thursday.

According to the MoIT, reversing the downward trend in 2015, Vietnam's farm exports have experienced "positive" growth in 2016.

Specifically, export volume of coffee and cashew nuts enjoyed year-on-year growth of over 30 percent while that of seafood saw increase of 7.5 percent. Endit
