The following are highlights of South African major media outlets on Tuesday:

-- There is no time to waste in building a "genuine revolutionary socialist political party", the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (Numsa) has said.

Union president Andrew Chirwa on Monday said there was no room for the ruling ANC anymore, except in the dustbins of history. (News24)

-- South Africa's Koeberg nuclear power station will not be affected by the French Areva probe into the irregularities in quality control at its forge in Le Creusot as it uncovered new anomalies in manufacturing records, electricity utility Eskom said on Monday. (Fin24)

-- The Indian Gupta family tried to take control of the South African Broadcasting Corporation's (SABC) news production, the State Security Agency (SSA) investigated certain staff members, and the real power was with Hlaudi Motsoeneng and not the CEO.
