China's treasury bond futures closed lower on Tuesday, with the contract for settlement in March 2017 closed 0.202 percent lower at 98.900 yuan (about 14.4 U.S. dollars).
The June 2017 contract closed 0.172 percent lower at 98.415 yuan. The September 2017 contract closed 0.254 percent lower at 98.070 yuan.
The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermined price and set date. They allow investors to bet on and profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.
