Jordan reiterates support for Iraq's efforts in eradicating terrorism

Xinhua, December 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Jordan on Wednesday reiterated its support for Iraq's efforts to uproot terrorism, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Jordan's Senate President Feisal Fayez made the remarks at a meeting with Ammar al Hakeem, chairman of the National Iraqi Alliance, where he said Jordan was also keen on preserving the unity and the stability of Iraq.

Stressing strategic ties between the two countries, Fayez said Iraq's stability is in the interests of Jordan.

He added that Jordan rejects any attempts to interfere in Iraq's internal affairs.

He also voiced support for a political solution on Syrian issue.

The Jordanian official called on the international community to boost up efforts in uprooting terrorism, which he said threatens the entire world.

Al Hakeem voiced appreciation for Jordan's support, expressing keenness for further cooperation.

He also said that the security challenges require the cooperation of all players in the region.
