NATO chief reaffirms diplomatic solution to Ukraine crisis

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday called on all parties to fully implement the Minsk Agreements, reaffirming a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine crisis.

Stoltenberg stressed the Alliance's support for Ukraine at a press conference following a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Commission.

During the meeting, NATO foreign ministers discussed the situation in eastern Ukraine with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and reaffirmed their strong political and practical support for Kiev.

"The security situation remains serious," said Stoltenberg.

"Diplomacy offers the only viable solution to the crisis in Ukraine. I call on all parties to redouble their efforts to implement the Minsk Agreements in full," he said.

Stoltenberg also urged the international community to maintain pressure on Russia. Endit
