The Pentagon has intentionally buried an internal report documenting the agency's 125 billion U.S. dollars worth of bureaucratic waste out of fears that the Congress might cut its budget, U.S. media revealed.

The 77-page report, issued in January 2015, was commissioned by the Defense Department leaders with the aim to cut military bureaucracy and reinvest any savings. (US-Pentagon-Spending)

ANKARA -- Turkish fighter jets have resumed airstrikes against Islamic State (IS) positions in Syria's al-Bab, destroying nine positions, Hurriyet News reported Wednesday.

Turkish warplanes carried out air strikes in al-Bab on Tuesday night, the Turkish General Staff said in a statement, adding that 4 IS shelters, three headquarters and a tank were destroyed in the air strikes. (Turkey-Syria-Strike)

ABUJA -- Nigeria is planning to take strict measures to make its terrain difficult for maritime criminals to operate, the Senate said on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD -- Three foreigners were among the 47 people on board a domestic plane of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), which crashed in the country's north mountainous area on Wednesday afternoon, local Urdu media reported.
