Shanghai city culture dialogue held at Tallinn University

A talk on "Culture, Life and City Development of Shanghai" was held on Tuesday here to enhance local people's knowledge about the development of the Chinese metropolis.

Zhang Endi, vice-president of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Shanghai Committee, welcomed Estonians to learn more about Shanghai, expecting more efforts to promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding.

Wu Jianzhong, Counsellor of Shanghai Municipal Government, talked about the history of Shanghai and the city's development plan for 2040, with a special focus on biological and innovative elements.

Wang Liping, a famous Chinese playwright, shared her experience of 20 years engagement in TV series, which are closely related to ordinary people's daily life and social issues, and have created great resonance among the audience. Her work "The Wonderful Time of Daughter-in-law" became the first Chinese TV series ever broadcast in Africa.

The event was co-organized by the Confucius Institute and Asian Studies at School of Humanities of Tallinn University. Endit
