The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Friday.

--Ethiopia and Finland Thursday launched a 40 million Euros safe water supply, sanitation and hygiene project (WASH III) that runs from August 2016 to July 2019.

The project aims at providing more than one million people with access to safe water supplies while reaching one million more with improved sanitation and hygiene services. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

--The Ministry of Farming and Natural Resource of Ethiopia unveiled on Thursday the second phase small scale-irrigation development project which will run for the coming seven years.

The 145 million U.S. dollars project will benefit 108,000 households. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

--The European Union (EU) Delegation to Ethiopia and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) signed on Thursday a contract for 1.5 million Euros to support the new phase of the program "Food Policy Research". (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

--The City Government of Addis Ababa disclosed that it has identified 35 districts within the 10 sub-cities of the capital to implement the first phase of the urban safety net program.
