Cuban runners dominated Sunday's Havana International Marathon, known as the Marabana.

Cuba's Henry Jaen won with a time of 2 hours, 34 minutes and 29 seconds, while his compatriot Misleidys Vargas won the women's division, with a time of 3:06:09.

Jaen also won the 2006, 2007 and 2013 competitions.

Coming in second and third place were Cuban runners Yumier Fouman, with a time of 2:36:30, and Alien Reyes (2:39:24).

In the women's race, the Dutch runner Inez-Anne Haagen came in second, and Cuba's Lizandra Gomez came in third.

Both Jaen and Vargas won an all expenses paid trip to compete in the Paris marathon in April 2017.

A record number of runners participated in this year's Marabana: 5,030 runners, including 1,953 foreign runners from 113 countries and regions. Endit
