Xinjiang fall from first place on night 20 of CBA action

The 9th round of China Basketball Association (CBA) regular season action started with game night 20 in Shenzhen on Sunday. The home team took out Xinjiang 106-91, setting it on a three-game winning streak while Xinjiang have encountered two consecutive defeats.
Xinjiang topped the table on 7-1 before the battle. Shenzhen opened the game by going on a 14-3 run, but Xinjiang answered by going 7-2. After Sun Tonglin's layup, the two teams had a 22-22 draw at the end of the first quarter. In the last quarter, the game went to junk time, with Xinjiang falling from first place after their loss.
Meanwhile, Beijing came from behind to beat Zhejiang 116-106, with the scoring led by Stephon Marbury.
Zhejiang stormed to a lead from the outset on Willie Warren's scoring. After Beijing fought back, led by Marbury, Warren beat back again, going on an 8-1 run. Beijing was behind Zhejiang on 20-30 after the first quarter.
During the last quarter, Beijing caught on fire. Sun Qingpeng and Zhai Xiaochuan hit 3-pointers, Sun Yue got a dunk, making a fantastic 11-0 run for the Ducks. Randolph Morris had a game-high 18 points and 5 assists, Warren got 38 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists.
In other action, Tianjin hammered Jiangsu 122-91, Liaoning overwhelmed Fujian 118-80, Shanghai beat Shanxi 108-89, Qingdao lost to Guangdong 90-98, Sichuan beat Jilin 113-92, Shandong beat Jiangsu 103-88, Guangxia downed Aolong 128-108, and Bayi edged out Guangzhou 94-93. Endit
