Portuguese police detain seven suspect for drug-related crimes

Portuguese police said Wednesday that seven people had been arrested and 7,451 doses of drugs were seized in the Northern Porto area.

The six men and one woman, aged between 20 and 52, were detained during police operations on Tuesday and Wednesday in the municipalities of Marco de Canaveses, Penafiel, and Amarante. They already had criminal records, according to the police.

In a statement, police said that among the 7,451 doses of drugs, 3,682 were heroin, 502 cocaine, 640 hashish and 95 ecstasy.

The police also seized firearms, pistol replicas, cars, mobile phones, digital scales and 3,275 euros (3,500 U.S. dollars) in cash. Endit
